Caters News via Bulls Press - Tom Lackey, 89, took up wing-walking as a way past the grief of losing his wife. Here, he is flying across the English Channel.
This morning’s NY Times delivered a much needed dose of inspiration to my front door. I’m taking a little break from LA-LA land and submerging myself into a little “keepin’ it real” in NYC. Living in a city obsessed by youth and beauty I often forget that the most exciting people are those that have many decades under their belt. There’s a new rush of thrill seekers, many of them are over the age of 70, going on trips to the North Pole, summitting Everest and biking through Europe. They are a testament that the fun doesn’t have ever have to stop and it’s never too late to try something new.
Later that morning I hopped on the treadmill. A 70+ woman was on the treadmill next to me. As she was leaving she commented to me “you’re my inspiration”. I laughed. Little did she know that she was mine.
